Someone broke into my car tonight. It was parked in a pretty ghetto street near the club we went to. So frustrating. |

I managed to slack off again.
At this point, I thought it would be easiest to update with some pictures taken over the past few weeks.
In a nutshell, everything has been going quite well. Well, for the most part anyway.

I seem to have fallen into the abyss again.
I don’t know why this happens every now and then. But unfortunately, it does.
I miss LJ.
I’m trying to get through my first official semester as a Ph D student. This is actually a lot more difficult than I thought it would be. But I’ll survive, I’m sure. Just two more weeks of this and I’ll have some time off. I can really use the breathing room.
Although I haven’t been on LJ in the past month or so, I haven’t been as antisocial in the non-ephemeral world. Maybe I’ll be able to update everything I’ve been up to over the past few weeks through some pictures or something.
I hope everything is going well and I look forward to catching up with everyone’s lives soon enough. |

Does anyone else feel totally cheated by the Oscars?
Not only did I think it was excruciatingly boring (and long!), I totally thought "Brokeback Mountain" was cheated out of the Best Picture win. In all fairness though, I still haven't seen "Crash." But still!
P.s. I want Reese Witherspoon to star in EVERYTHING. |

My friends and I decided to not go out this Saturday night and instead, we acted like we did back in high school. We used to have this cute little tradition of spending one night a month or so (usually the full moon) at the beach. We used to just hang out on the sand with some tiki lamps and such or start a drum circle or sorts (well, there used to be a drum circle every full moon that we would just crash). We did this last night for the first time in about four years or so. I had gone to the beach at night since then (mostly to have sex though), but I hadn’t done it with my friends. It was so very nice to return there with them. Not everyone from our old high school group could make it. In fact, it ended up just being me, my sister Annette, Ashley, Stephanie and Jose. Although my digital camera’s battery died early into the night when Steph and Jose had yet to arrive (they were latecomers), so all the pictures are of me, Ash, and Annette.
You see, I'm learning. I don’t need a club or bar to make me happy! I just need my friends.

I've been totally out of the LJ loop. I know.
Updating has been fairly difficult lately. Sometimes I feel I just don't have enough time and then other times I feel I don't have much to say. I think I'm finally out of the rut.
I look forward to getting reacquainted with my LJ friends. Hopefully not too much has changed in the past two or three months!

Instead, I want to tell you about a man I recently just discovered. I caught half of the new (well, relatively new) Fox show, "Skating with Celebrities." And I totally fell in love with one of the skaters: John Zimmerman. Mmmmm.

Well, it's SuperBowl Sunday!!!
Usually I'd be at someone's house, eating and drinking maniacally. But not this year.
My sister and I decided to throw our own (and very personal) SuperBowl party. Just the two of us.
We're doing this for a few reasons. We both have a lot of shit to do, and we figured we'd get a lot of our work done at our own house. Two, we both want to eat unabashedly. I'm going to eat until I can eat no more. And thirdly, neither of us care to watch the game this year. So our SuperBowl will consist of eating a lot and watching the 10th season of "Friends."
We're on our way to the market now to stock up on the goods. If it all works out, pictures will soon follow.
In the meantime, here's a picture someone took of me and my best friend Angie on Friday. We were slightly intoxicated at this point and it had totally rained on us a bit earlier. A great time was had nonetheless.
(P.s. Yes, I realize how pale I've gotten.

I'm on my way to a pot luck brunch with some of my very best friends. I'm bringing mashed potatoes (I didn't have much time to make anything original or particularly fun). I'm truly excited. We're all single and we're all ready to discuss business (mostly men).
I haven't updated in a while. Mostly because I've been insanely busy with school. I'll explain it all later.

I want to lose five pounds. Problem is, I truly can’t find the time to exercise like I used to and I never feel like cooking anymore (which means I resort to eating comfort foods). I feel so stuck! However, look at what I made myself for lunch today!
Brown rice, chicken cooked in peanut sauce, water chestnuts, and potatoes (I improvised with what I had).
P.S. I’m really excited about tonight’s Golden Globe awards. I’m also really looking forward to a new season of American Idol (tomorrow) as well as a new episode of Commander in Chief (also tomorrow) and new episodes of Lost and Invasion (Wednesday). It’s funny. I seem to have no time to exercise or cook. But I somehow find the time to watch everything on television. I used to HATE TV. When did I become such a loser? |

New Year's Eve was one of the best nights I've had in a very long time. I have a HUGE family and we all get along so very well, but we don't get to see each other terribly often. The holidays always prove to be the perfect time for us all to reunite and catch up on each other's lives.

I went to the mall yesterday hoping to cash in on the many post-holiday sales, but left EXTREMELY disappointed. It was extremely packed. There were a lot of incompetent people there. My size was nowhere to be found. And I was too frustrated to ask for any assistance.
Needless to say, I was unhappy. However, Armani Exchange has just redeemed itself. I don't usually buy clothes online because I'm scared it may look nice on the screen but pretty crappy in person. Anyway, if you shop at AX, their sale is incredible. I highly recommend you check their website: armaniexchange.com.

Among my New Year’s resolutions, I really want to care less about men. I know that sounds like a weird goal, but whatever.
Some of my friends have told me that they believe I may be incapable of being alone—-only because it’s been so freakin’ long since I’ve had absolutely no man in my life.
I’m going to give myself a little breather. But, in my defense, I don’t feel a sense of void or incompleteness when I’m not dating someone. However, I’ll admit, I am a serial dater.
Anyhoo, enough of that. I didn’t get a chance to post the rest of the pictures from Christmas Eve. I finally got a chance to upload the rest to my computer.

I’m going to sleep in a bit. And, yes, I realize it's the early afternoon. But I need to be fully rested for tomorrow. Victor, Annette and I are going to Orlando tomorrow--and I'm the one who's driving (it's really not that far; it's about four hours away).
It’s all part of the Christmas gift we gave Victor (who is crazily obsessed with penguins).
Anyhoo, I’ll explain further upon my return (it’s only a one-nighter).
But in a nutshell, we’re going to have close encounters with sea lions, dolphins and penguins.
